What is an empty leg?
Bookings with special conditions are flight bookings that were sold at a lower price because they were connected to an already existing flight booking of airline.
Examples are empty flights (also referred to as ‘empty leg’) or a flight that is attached to an already booked flight – before or after the already existing flight.
What do you have to look out when you sign up with an empty leg flight?
Such bookings with special conditions are thus directly dependent on the previously established (main) booking. Significant changes to this previous (main) booking can affect the conditions or price of the booking with special conditions.
When booking a flight with special conditions, the client is fully informed about those conditions and accepts them. If there is a cancellation by the carrier, the carrier shall not be liable.
The special conditions are established in the charter contract.
